Project description

Association for Humanitarian Development (AHD) is working to bring Peace, Unity, Justice and Harmony to uplift poor rural communities towards sustainable development. AHD started searching sustainable solutions and innovated Nadi filter solution for safe drinking water from 1 unit to 1,000 during 2006 and now in 2024 about 365,000 Nadi filters in the rural communities across Pakistan and Africa and still going on to help poor rural people and make UN SDG # 6 happen to access safe and clean drinking water for all.

AHD working to empower rural poor communities and the next target to reach one million 1,000,000 families in Pakistan and to access safe and clean drinking water for 10 million people and to help UN SDG # 6 to access safe and clean drinking water for all.

AHD trying to help Africa and internationally to help rural people, in Pakistan now NGOs, INGOs and private organizations are doing this and helping poor rural people with access to safe and clean drinking water for 3.5 million people.

Objectives

The overall objective of the project is to organize local communities and build their capacity skills on disaster risk management and creating sustainable livelihoods for the poor and the disadvantaged communities in the project areas to reduce economic risks caused due to the floods 2025/natural disasters by developing risk mitigation capacities of the community. In addition, the project also aims to provide basic facilities of safe drinkng water, to reduce the vulnerability Cholera outbreaks, gastro and Diarrhea in the poor communities in rural areas. 

Impact & Achievements

·       365,000 households get Bio Sand Nadi Filter installed in their homes

·       60,830 households get training on how to make BSNF at their own

·       3,600,000 households start using safe drinking water purified through BSNF

AHD Nadi filter technology is sustainable in its design, cheap, innovative and locally adoptable anywhere in the  world. The Nadi filter unit’s pots made by mud & innovation made from local material available in rural areas and communities residing in far & scattered areas can easily build through their own Nadi filter with guide and training of AHD team.

How can you get involved

AHD Nadi filter innovation reached 365,000 and with next 2030 target is 1 million poor, vulnerable and indigenous people residing in rural areas of Pakistan, Asia & Africa. AHD vision to reach mass cale and help UN SDG # 6 happens to be done in rural communities and reach 01 one million families till 2025 to 2030.
