One of the biggest misconceptions about AWGs is that they're all the same.

They're not.

Today, three main technologies dominate the market.

Cooling Condensation

These systems cool air below its dew point, causing water vapour to condense into liquid water—similar to droplets forming on a cold glass.

Desiccant Systems

Instead of cooling the air immediately, these use highly hygroscopic materials to absorb moisture before releasing it through gentle heating.

Hybrid Systems

The latest generation combines both approaches, often integrating renewable energy or waste heat to improve efficiency.

Which technology is best?

There isn't a universal answer.

The best system depends on climate, humidity, energy availability, daily demand and intended application.

The important thing is understanding that AWGs are not one technology—they're an entire family of technologies.
