Product description
Biohut® – Artificial Fish Nursery Habitat is an innovative solution designed to restore coastal fish nursery functions in degraded habitats. It consists of modular metallic frames filled with natural substrates like oyster shell, providing shelter and feeding resources for juvenile fish. The design mimics natural nurseries and accelerates ecological recovery.
Deployed in ports, marinas, floating platforms, canals, and offshore installations, over 4,500 Biohut® modules have been installed globally, supporting more than 100 fish species and over 200 invertebrates. Biohut® enhances juvenile survival by increasing habitat complexity and biodiversity. Its deployment is backed by scientific monitoring, with proven colonization in over 40 ports—particularly in Mediterranean and overseas French territories. Biohut® is ideal for ecological restoration driven by port authorities, conservation agencies, and infrastructure developers.
